Earlier this week, Greenwich, Conn.-based global contract logistics services provider GXO Logistics Inc. and Scottsdale, Ariz.-based Blue Yonder, a provider of AI-driven and end-to-end supply chain management services, said they have inked a global multi-year strategic agreement.
The companies said that through this agreement Blue Yonder will become one of GXO’s preferred off-the-shelf software solution providers for warehouse management systems (WMS), supporting GXO’s rapid growth and also its need for seamless implementations at scale for its clients in various sectors. And they added that this agreement creates additional warehouse and logistics capabilities and also help to deliver faster speed-to-market for businesses that require extra inventory flexibility, bringing a simple onboarding experience providing more insight into operations, coupled with real-time data forecasting as goods move throughout a warehouse.
GXO Chief Technology Officer Nizar Trigui told LM that a key driver for this agreement with Blue Yonder was related to customers asking GXO to help it identify solutions across their entire supply chain as they navigate the unpredictability in today’s macroenvironment.
“By working with Blue Yonder, we are able to provide our customers with a more agile and optimized end-to-end solution for their logistics operations,” said Trigui. “Over the past few years, GXO has integrated elements of the Blue Yonder platform in its warehouses to support specific operational tasks. This announcement expands GXO’s agreement with Blue Yonder to include the company's full suite of supply chain software.”
Trigui added that GXO and Blue Yonder are redefining the way organizations work together—through collaboration, not competition.
“The strategic agreement will allow customers to apply Blue Yonder’s end-to-end solution across GXO’s scale of operations, providing greater agility, security, and adaptability to market shifts,” he said. “GXO and Blue Yonder will continue to work together to redefine how technology is developed and refined for 3PLs, driving long-term value, and supporting partnership-focused customer relationships.”
Blue Yonder CEO Duncan Angove said that Blue Yonder has built an innovative offering that supports GXO’s rapid growth and differentiation in a highly competitive market.
“This agreement further enables GXO to achieve its goal of delivering smarter, faster and leaner supply chains for its customers,” he said.
