Augment announces an $85 million Series A funding round
San Francisco-based Augment, an AI productivity platform for logistics, announced today it has brought its total capital raised to more than $110 million, with an $85 million Series A funding round, which was led by private equity firm Redpoint Ventures, in addition to participation from 8VC, as well as other logistics and AI investors. Augment said this capital raise comes five months after the company came out of stealth mode.

New gate automation platform from Outpost addresses significant avoidable costs
Those costs, which are tied to terminals’ gate operations and related to labor, security/theft, and bottlenecks, are estimated to be at around $6.7 billion annually, based on the company’s analysis of facility labor cost benchmarks and national terminal counts derived from government and proprietary data.

WiseTech said that the purchase agreement was $3.30 per share in cash, for a total of $2.1 billion. The company added that bringing e2open into the fold helps it strategically on various fronts, like adding adjacent markets, customer bases, and product capabilities, enabling WiseTech to “create a global, multi-sided, trade, and logistics marketplace.”

Cost prioritization and emissions reduction lead shippers’ strategies for 2025, Breakthrough report finds
Green Bay, Wis.-based Breakthrough, a provider of fuel and freight solutions for shippers, issued “2025 State of Transportation Report.” A key focus of this report centered around what Breakthrough called an expected freight market flip, coupled with new governmental and economic headwinds that will shape shippers’ strategies over the next 12 months.

The new “State of Transportation” report issued today by Green Bay, Wis.-based Breakthrough, a provider of fuel and freight solutions for shippers, addressed myriad components of freight transportation and logistics impacting shippers and carriers, including volatile weather, sustainability and emissions reduction, and over-the-road capacity, among others. 

DHL relocates Norfolk service center to new facility
Company officials said that this new facility is a full-service operation where the company processes shipments and directly serves customers at its new retail ServicePoint counter. And they added that the $7.3 million facility also increases shipment capacity and also enables faster processing, which results in faster pickup cutoff times for Eastern Virginia-based shippers.
