During CSCMP's (Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals) EDGE 2024 Conference in Nashville earlier this month, SC247's Andy Gray caught up with Craig Moore, Vice President of Sales, North America at Körber Supply Chain Software, to discuss Körber's role in today’s supply chain, why a 'one size fits all' approach no longer works for companies, and a key prediction for 2025.
What are you most excited about that Körber Supply Chain Software is doing right now?
Craig Moore: Historically, we’ve focused on supply chain execution, particularly within the four walls. Körber Supply Chain Software has made significant strides with our supply chain software portfolio; we’ve grown beyond just Warehouse Management Systems (WMS). We’ve expanded into areas such as order management, freight audit and pay, facility simulation and design, and autonomous mobile robotics.
We’ve brought all of that together in a true portfolio aimed at execution. It used to be very software-focused, but over time, it’s become about augmenting the human workforce to help companies execute better. Now, it feels like we’re offering companies a more cohesive, cleaner solution.
Earlier in my career, requests for proposals (RFPs) often asked for WMS, order management, and transportation management in one package. Companies were looking for more of a suite provider. Today, though, the trend has shifted. Organizations prefer best-of-breed solutions—specialized tools for specific needs rather than a one-size-fits-all approach. It’s important that we offer these standalone best-of-breed solutions because that’s what buyers are focusing on today.
