On the heels of recently announcing the rollout of a new transcontinental delivery service, following their October 2021 merger announcement, Vienna, Va.-based LaserShip, the largest regional e-commerce parcel carrier and last-mile delivery services provider, and Chandler, Ariz.-based regional shipping services provider OnTrac, said earlier this month that they are expanding into Texas.

The new edition of the Cowen/AFS Freight Index, which was recently released by New York-based investment firm Cowen Inc. and Shreveport, La.-based 3PL and freight audit and payment company AFS Logistics LLC, highlighted how rising fuel prices are having a significant impact on both parcel and LTL (Less-than-Truckload) rates, whereas things are somewhat lessening on the truckload side.

This facility, which DHL invested $4 million into, will increase shipment capacity and also enable faster shipment processing to facilitate earlier deliveries, as well as later pickup cutoff times for local shipper customers.

Werner officials said that bringing NEHDS into the fold will allow it to integrate the company into its existing nationwide final mile home delivery network, for big and bulky products, and also provide current and existing customers with an expanded menu of service offerings.

Executive leadership for South Portland, Maine-based ShipRight, a provider of order fulfillment, contact center and final mile delivery services, provided LM with a look at how it approaches Peak Season, both from a preparation and operations perspective.

This goes back to just how different 2020 is shaping up to be, from a shopping, shipping and e-commerce logistics perspective, make no mistake.
