This week more than 1,200 exhibitors and record numbers of attendees from all over the world are converging at McCormick Place in Chicago for ProMat 2025.

Despite ongoing levels of uncertainty from the White House’s various tariff actions, positive momentum in the logistics sector continues to gain traction for the 14th consecutive month in February according to the new edition of the February 2025 Logistics Manager’s Index (LMI), which was released this week.

The facility will serve a strategic customer by keeping materials close to their plant, ensuring smoother operations.

The report, titled “2024: Market Rents Reset After Years of Performance,” found that global logistics rents fell by 5% in 2024, with the U.S. and Canada collectively down 7% and Europe down 1%.

This represents A. Duie Pyle’s second expansion in 2025, bringing the total number of its facilities to 32, with the company noting these new facilities are key aspects of steps the company is taking to expand its network in the Northeast.

DHL Supply Chain said that this acquisition will make it the largest North American-based provider of reverse logistics services.

December’s LMI reading, at 57.3, is off 1.1% compared to November’s 58.4 reading and is also down compared to October’s 58.9, the fastest monthly rate of expansion going back to September 2022.

Workers are demanding improved wages, safety measures, and recognition from the retail giant.

The November LMI score came in at 58.4, which is off 0.5% from October’s 58.9, the fastest monthly rate of expansion going back to September 2022—and the 12th month of expansion since a 49.4 reading in November 2023. The September LMI score was 58.6, with growth over the last three months viewed as “highly consistent,” the report stated.

The report, entitled “2024-2025 Industrial Tenant Demand Study,” explained that requirements have fallen 1.8% annually, to 792,000 square-feet (SF), with companies adopting a more cautious approach and focusing things like lean cost savings and carefully evaluating their options. And it added that this shift is paced by multiple things like inventory carrying costs, interest rates, and supply chain considerations.  

The report observes that while Big-Box industrial product was the beneficiary of the highest developer interest and tenant demand during what Colliers calls the “hyperactive real estate cycle in 2021 and 2022,” it has since returned to pre-pandemic levels, with less surplus and lower demand.

Fremont, Calif.-based RK Logistics Group announced it acquired a Tempe, Az.-based facility and assets from warehousing and expedited transportation services provider Southwest Supply Chain Solutions.
