ShipMatrix data highlights very strong parcel on-time performance rates
Combined on-time performance (OTP) for all domestic parcel services for the three carriers using end-of-day delivery, for express and an extra day, hit high levels, respectively, with FedEx at 98.7%, UPS at 98.9%, and the USPS at 98.7%, reported ShipMatrix.

USPS to end discounted rates for package consolidators starting January 1
As of January 1, USPS said it will no longer offer discounted rates through negotiated service agreements (NSA) for packages entered by consolidators at Post Office delivery units.

USPS introduces proposed shipping rate hikes, effective January 2025
The changes would raise prices by 3.2% for Priority Mail and Priority Mail Express, 3.9% for USPS Ground Advantage, and 9.2% for Parcel Select. The price of a First-Class stamp will remain unchanged.

USPS sees mixed earnings results among gains in its Shipping and Packages group
Operating revenue, at $79.5 billion, was up $1.4 billion, or 1.7%, annually, and USPS incurred a net loss of $9.5 billion, compared to $6.5 billion loss a year ago. Total volume, at 112,489 million pieces, was off 3.2% annually.

The United States Postal Service (USPS) said this week it is taking steps to implement what it called a new strategic approach, regarding its contracts with package consolidator companies, which they define as those who consolidate large volumes of packages for entry into various points of the USPS network.
