National diesel average heads up, after falling for three weeks, reports EIA

Following three weeks of declines, the national average price per gallon of diesel gasoline headed up this week, according to data issued today by the Department of Energy’s Energy Information Administration (EIA).

With a 9.9-cent increase, the national average price per gallon came in at $3.718 per gallon. This followed a 4.5-cent decline, to $3.620, for the week of October 20, a 4.6-cent decline, to $3.665, for the week of October 13, and a 4.3-cent decrease, to $3.711, for the week of October 6, for a collective 13.4-cent decline over the previous three weeks. Which was preceded by a $0.005-cent increase, to $3.754, for the week of September 29, and a $0.01-cent increase, to $3.749, for the week of September 22.

Prior to that, the national average saw a 2.7-cent decline, to $3.739, for the week of September 15, a 3.2-cent increase, to $3.7666, for the week of September 8, and a 2.6-cent increase, to $3.734, for the week of September 1, and hitting its highest weekly average since the week of July 28, at $3.805.

On an annual basis, the national average rose 14.5 cents, following gains of 6.7 cents and 3.4 cents over the previous two weeks.
