National diesel average sees gains for second week in a row, reports EIA
The national average price per gallon of diesel gasoline headed up for the second consecutive week, according to data issued by the Department of Energy’s Energy Information Administration (EIA) this week.
The national average rose 3.5 cents, coming in at $3.753 per gallon, for the week of November 3. This followed a 9.9-cent increase, to $3.718 per gallon, for the week of October 27, a 4.5-cent decline, to $3.620, for the week of October 20, a 4.6-cent decline, to $3.665, for the week of October 13, and a 4.3-cent decrease, to $3.711, for the week of October 6, for a collective 13.4-cent decline over that three-week period. Which was preceded by a $0.005-cent increase, to $3.754, for the week of September 29, and a $0.01-cent increase, to $3.749, for the week of September 22.
Prior to that, the national average saw a 2.7-cent decline, to $3.739, for the week of September 15, a 3.2-cent increase, to $3.7666, for the week of September 8, and a 2.6-cent increase, to $3.734, for the week of September 1, and hitting its highest weekly average since the week of July 28, at $3.805.
On an annual basis, the national average rose 21.7 cents, topping annual gains seen over the previous three weeks, at 14.5 cents, 6.7 cents, and 3.4 cents, respectively.
WTI Crude is currently trading at $59.61 per barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
