Hamburg, Germany-based Körber Supply Chain Software, a joint venture between Körber AG and KKR and a provider of end-to-end supply chain software services, including software, automation, mail and parcel solutions, voice solutions, robotics, and material handling, said yesterday it inked a binding agreement to acquire Cary, N.C.-based transportation management systems (TMS) services provider MercuryGate International Inc.

Convoy officials said that this initiative is focused on helping freight brokers on various fronts, including: automating the brokerage process, controlling costs, and accessing elastic capacity from more than 400,000 connected trucks via its Convoy for Brokers tool, which enables brokerages to post loads directly to its digital freight network, access our elastic capacity, and expand their carrier base while maintaining their relationships with shippers and carriers and ensuring the privacy of their data.

Mercury Gate officials said that bringing Cheetah into the fold will enable the company to extend its TMS platform in order to deliver a last mile, parcel, and less-than-truckload (LTL) offering—and an enhanced fleet management capability—able to adapt, automate, and communicate real-time movements.

SaaS-based transportation management system (TMS) provider MercuryGate International Inc. and Uber Freight, a subsidiary of the ubiquitous, ride-sharing service Uber, whose proprietary app matches trucking companies with loads to haul, have formed a partnership in which Uber Freight’s extensive carrier network is now available on the MercuryGate platform.

Austin, Texas-based Convey, a provider of delivery experience management software that helps shippers connect disparate data and processes from parcel to freight in the last mile, and Cary, N.C.-based SaaS-based transportation management system (TMS) provider MercuryGate International Inc. said this week they are formally collaborating on what they called a partnership and technology integration expected to be made available in June.

MercuryGate said that through this partnership shippers can now access the CSX online booking tool, ShipCSX, which enables shippers to plan, ship, and pay for intermodal shipments, through MercuryGate’s TMS.
