Echo brings FreightSaver into the fold
Chicago-based third-party logistics and technology-enabled transportation services provider Echo Global Logistics announced earlier today it has acquired Huntington Beach, Calif.-based Freight Saver, a provider of third-party logistics (3PL) services.

Strategic partnership between NTG and Flexport focuses on supply chain visibility
Atlanta-based Nolan Transportation Group (NTG), a provider of non-asset, tech-enabled logistics and brokerage services, and a subsidiary of Transportation Insight, and San Francisco-based freight forwarding and customs brokerage services provider Flexport, said they are collaborating on a strategic partnership focused on integrating their respective technologies, with a focus on “greater visibility across supply chains.”

Maersk announces it is set to acquire Pilot Freight Services
Maersk officials said that the purchase price is $1.68 billion (USD), adding that the acquisition is subject to regulatory review and approval, which it expects to be obtained by the second quarter, with both Maersk and Pilot operating as independent businesses until the acquisition is made official.

3Gtms announces acquisition of Pacejet, expands service offerings on parcel side
Shelton, Conn.-based 3Gtms, said today it has acquired Pacejet, a Columbus, Ohio-based provider of enterprise, cloud-based multi-carrier shipping software. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Seattle-based FreightWeb makes market entrance, with a sharp focus on partial truckload transport
FreightWeb is financially backed by Madrona Venture Group and 8VC, with the latter having also backed Flexport, Flexe and other logistics technology-focused companies. The company is led by Will Payson, whom serves as co-founder and CEO, and its team has a combined 50 years of logistics experience in previous leadership roles at FedEx and Amazon, as well as various carriers and brokerages.
