National diesel average heads up, for week of January 13, reports EIA
With a 4.1-cent increase, the national average, for the week of January 13, came in at $3.602. This followed a 5.8-cent increase, to $3.476, for the week of January 6—which marked the largest increase going back to a 4.7-cent increase for the week of October 14—bringing the cumulative increase over the last two weeks to 9.9 cents.

October freight shipments and expenditures see annual declines, notes Cass Freight Index
The October shipments reading, at 1.081, fell 2.4% annually, following a 5.2% annual decline in September. Expenditures, at 3.175, fell 5.9% annually.

National diesel average heads down for third straight week, reports EIA
With a 3.0-cent decline, the national average came in at $3.491, following a 1.5-cent decrease, to $3.521, for the week of November 11 and a 3.7-cent decrease, for the week of November 4, to $3.536. Over the last three weeks, the national diesel average has fallen a cumulative 8.2 cents.

For July, the most recent month for which data is available, the SCI came in at 0.5, up slightly from June’s 0.3 and down from April’s 3.0 and May’s 4.5 readings.
