For the second straight year, concern over the state of the nation’s economy was the highest-ranked industry issue for trucking executives, according to an authoritative survey of industry issues by the American Transportation Research Institute (ATRI).

A collaboration announced this week between two well-known supply chain players—San Francisco-based real estate investment trust company Prologis and Performance Team, a subsidiary of Copenhagen, Denmark-based A.P. Moeller Maersk, an integrated global logistics services provider, operating more than 140 electric vehicles across the U.S.­—heralds the rollout of the largest heavy-duty electric vehicle (EV) charging depot in Southern California.

The analysis, entitled “Charged Logistics: The Cost of Electric Vehicle Conversion for U.S. Commercial Fleets,” takes a deep dive into the myriad challenges related to converting to EVs, including what it called evolving state and federal legal requirements focused on transitioning to zero-emissions vehicles.
