DHL relocates Norfolk service center to new facility
Company officials said that this new facility is a full-service operation where the company processes shipments and directly serves customers at its new retail ServicePoint counter. And they added that the $7.3 million facility also increases shipment capacity and also enables faster processing, which results in faster pickup cutoff times for Eastern Virginia-based shippers.

DHL rolls out new Argentina-bound flight
The company said the new offering will fly six times per week between Miami International Airport (MIA) and Buenos Aires, Argentina (EZE), with a stopover in Santiago, Chile (SCL), prior to returning to Miami (MIA). And it added that the flight is operated by DHL Aero Expreso, with a Boeing B767-300 aircraft providing a gross payload capacity of 52 tons per flight.

DHL announces the opening of its new Atlanta-based Americas region hub
The company said it invested $84.5 million in this new 100,000 square-foot hub, and it added that the hub establishes direct connections between 19 cities in the Southeast and various global markets, which include Europe and major global DHL hubs. And it also noted that it plans to add flight connections to Hong Kong, Mexico, the UK, and Puerto Rico.

DHL sets up shop in a new San Diego location
Company officials said DHL invested $22 million into this new location, adding that the new location increases shipment capacity, enables faster shipment processing, and provides earlier customer deliveries.

DHL opens up new service center in South Florida
The company said it is investing $10.6 million into this facility, with a focus on increasing shipping capacity and also enabling faster package processing as well.

DHL Express rolls out a 5.9% general rate increase for 2022, for U.S. shippers
2022, and it added that some optional services and surcharges will also head up. Specific details, regarding the pending rate hike, were not made available, with the company saying that a guide to the 2022 rates will be published when it is made available.

DHL Express announces the opening of its Hamilton International Gateway facility
Plans for this facility were initially introduced by DHL in November 2019, and the company said that this new facility, which it invested $100 million (CAD) into, represents the largest DHL Express Canadian-based gateway by volume, at 238,000 square-feet, four times larger than the previous facility that is also at Hamilton International Airport.

DHL orders 12 all-electric eCargo planes from Eviation
DHL said its objective is to establish what it called an unparalleled electric Express network and make what it called a “pioneering step into a sustainable aviation future.” And it added that Evation’s Alice planes, as fully electric aircraft, enables both cargo and passenger airlines to operate a zero-emissions fleet, with DHL noting that Eviation has a 2024 target date to deliver the Alice aircraft to DHL.

DHL Express heralds major $360M investment in the Americas region
Global express delivery and logistics services provider DHL announced earlier this month that it is spending more than $360 million between 2020-2022, in an initiative focused on building new and expanding existing facilities in the America’s region, spanning the United States, Canada, Mexico, South and Central America and the Caribbean, coupled with investing millions of dollars into its Americas air network, for things like the introduction of new direct flight routes.
