Preliminary Class 8 truck net orders see mixed results

FTR reported that preliminary May Class 8 truck net orders, at 12,000 units, were up 40% compared to April, while falling 47% annually. ACT reported that its preliminary tally of May Class 8 truck net orders, at 13,200 units, showed sequential improvement, while falling 44% annually.
Preliminary April North American Class 8 net orders are mixed

FTR reported that preliminary April net orders, at 14,400 units, were off 25% compared to March and 12.5% annually. And it added that over the last 12 months, total Class 8 orders were at 267,700 units. ACT reported that April Class 8 orders, art 15,600 units, were off 1,800 units compared to March, while posting a 30% annual gain, in what it called a very easy year-ago comparison.
Preliminary Class 8 truck orders see solid August numbers

FTR reported that August preliminary orders, at 15,400 units, saw a 16% increase, from July to August. ACT reported that preliminary North American Class 8 August orders—at 19,000 units—were off 9% annually, while posting its best month since January, with the firm noting that continued economic strength and seasonal adjustment keeping orders on trend.
