C.H. Robinson said it has taken another step in its leverage and deployment of AI (Artificial Intelligence) technology, with the rollout of its Agentic Supply Chain, which it defines as an intelligent ecosystem that cautiously thinks, learns, adapts, and acts.

CHR said its Item-Level Solutions, which are comprised of advanced analytics, tailored solutions, scale, and the company’s 120 years in business, provide shipper customers with end-to-end visibility and control across inventories and supply chains “at the most granular level—by the individual item or SKU,” including tracking items in motion or at rest, managing orders and inventory with sharp precision, and enabling real-time insights for better planning, cost control, and customer service while reducing blind spots.

C.H. Robinson explained that as it moves more LTL freight than other North American-based 3PLs, the AI agent enables LTL shippers to move over to the new NMFC classification system.

The platform integrates third-party logistics (3PL), fourth-party logistics (4PL), and advanced transportation management system (TMS) technology into one seamless solution. With this innovation, shippers no longer need to rely on multiple providers to meet their complex logistics needs.

Through its proprietary generative AI technology, the company said that the automated steps the technology addresses for an entire lifecycle of a freight shipment, upon receiving and reading an incoming e-mail, include: giving customers a price quote; accepting a load; setting appointments for pickup and delivery; and checking the load in transit.

While high tensions between Class I railroad carriers CN and Canada Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) remain intact, following the potential for a full-blown work stoppage, which was ostensibly resolved, for the time being, after the railroads respectively received offers from the Canada Industrial Relations Board (CIRB), calling for imposing binding arbitration between them and the Teamsters Canada Rail Conference (TCRC), freight rail activity north of the border has resumed.

CHR officials said a key driver behind this decision was made as part of the its enterprise strategy “to get fit, fast, and focused,” including focusing on the services that are among its core strengths, like global ocean and air and North American truckload and less-than-truckload.

The search for a new CEO for Minneapolis, Minn.-based global logistics services provider and freight forwarder C.H. Robinson has come to an end, with the company announcing today it tabbed David Bozeman to take the position, effective June 26. Bozeman will also serve as a member of the company’s Board of Directors.
