Top trucking industry executives are hoping 2026 will—finally—be the year when pent-up demand translates into higher freight rates and a return to profitability in both the truckload and less-than-truckload (LTL) sectors.

This is the eighth facility it has opened in 2025, as well as its 36th service center in its Northeast footprint.

The new facilities in Columbus and Toledo will bring jobs and better service coverage.

John Luciani, COO of LTL Solutions, for A. Duie Pyle, told LM that the decision to open a new facility in Bridgeport, West Virginia, was driven by the company’s continued commitment to meeting the evolving needs of its customers and enhancing its regional network

The facility will serve a strategic customer by keeping materials close to their plant, ensuring smoother operations.

Pyle said that it is expanding its geographic footprint West, in the form of direct next-day service to all of Ohio, with Dayton heading East and expanding its next-day coverage into Pennsylvania.

This represents A. Duie Pyle’s second expansion in 2025, bringing the total number of its facilities to 32, with the company noting these new facilities are key aspects of steps the company is taking to expand its network in the Northeast.

Company officials said that the facility will “extend customer access to Pyle’s LTL services” and is comprised of 85 LTL (less-than-truckload) service center doors on 11 acres.

Amid a mixed economic outlook, three less-than-truckload (LTL) executives examined various business drivers, in terms of how they are impacting LTL market and economic conditions, at SMC3 Connections conference, which was recently held in Colorado Springs, Co. The session’s panelists included: Dennis Anderson, Chief Strategy Officer, ArcBest; John Luciani, COO, LTL Solutions, A. Duie Pyle; and Kent Williams, EVP, Sales and Marketing, Averitt.

Company officials said that this new facility is strategically positioned to efficiently service the most significant and demanding consumer population in the U.S., adding that Pyle also has plans to expand the campus to further accommodate growth in New York City. 

This new Bangor facility will extend access to Pyle’s LTL, warehouse and distribution and dedicated freight capabilities, in turn providing the company with the ability to serve more customers in the Bangor area. In tandem with its Portland, Maine-based LTL service center, the addition of this facility enables A. Duie Pyle to provide more comprehensive, full-service center coverage throughout Maine, the company said.

Company officials said this is A. Duie Pyle’s first service center in West Virginia, even though it has provided service for shippers there throughout the last year.

A. Duie Pyle said this new facility will add warehousing and distribution, consolidation, deconsolidation and integrated solutions, including load consolidation and final mile dedicated services, for its regional network.
